Day Center

Laços Quotidianos

The Laços Quotidianos Day Centre was developed with a clear objective: to create a functional, safe and welcoming senior care space, capable of meeting the technical requirements of a daily care unit without losing the human dimension that this type of environment requires.

The intervention organised the space into different functional areas, including permanence areas, dining, social interaction, care, administrative support, pantry and technical areas. Each zone was designed to support the daily work of the team, promote user comfort and ensure clear, intuitive and safe circulation.

The visual language of the project is based on a balanced combination of white, soft blue and wood-effect flooring. White enhances brightness and the feeling of hygiene. Blue conveys calm, trust and serenity. Wood adds warmth and proximity, avoiding an overly institutional atmosphere. The result is a clean, organised and comfortable environment, suitable for the daily life of people who need care, but also well-being.

The main room was designed as the living heart of the space. The furniture layout allows different types of use, from group activities to meals, rest or social moments. The armchairs, tables and support areas create a functional and accessible atmosphere, with a close and familiar scale.

In the care and technical support areas, the priority was to ensure simplicity, hygiene and efficiency. The spaces feature clear surfaces, essential furniture, good lighting and practical solutions for everyday use. The presence of glazed partitions allows visual transparency between environments, while maintaining the necessary separation between work, care and permanence areas.

The graphic identity was integrated in a discreet and coherent way, with elements inspired by traditional Portuguese tile patterns. This detail adds character to the project, reinforces the cultural connection of the space and creates a distinctive image, without compromising the sobriety required in a social and health support unit.

On the exterior, the graphic application on the shopfront communicates the services clearly and professionally, while preserving interior privacy. This solution reinforces the urban presence of the centre and improves the visibility of the brand within the community.

More than an assistance space, the Laços Quotidianos Day Centre was designed as a place of permanence, connection and care. An environment where functionality, comfort and identity work together to support the daily life of users and staff.
