At Central Pharmacy of Cantanhede, natural light plays a fundamental role in enhancing both atmosphere and functionality. Luminous surfaces and sleek furniture amplify brightness, making the pharmacy feel more spacious and inviting. This openness contributes to a better customer experience and promotes clarity in the product offering.

The renovation focused on bringing coherence through contrast and structure. Custom shelving and counters were designed to improve visibility and accessibility. The palette of whites and light neutrals reflects and diffuses light effectively, while the strategic lighting design complements the generous natural illumination from the storefront.

Optimizing flow was a priority. Circulation paths were redesigned to ensure intuitive and efficient navigation for customers while also improving the team’s daily workflow. Despite its compact footprint, the pharmacy now feels modern, open, and well-organized.

Medd Design’s Role

In this renovation, Medd Design focused on more than aesthetics, it prioritised how space supports function, well-being, and identity. By working closely with the pharmacy’s architectural context and operational needs, the team created a cohesive environment that feels open yet efficient. The design enhances not only the customer’s journey but also the staff’s experience, underlining Medd Design’s commitment to thoughtful, purpose-driven spaces.
