Natural Materials and Warmth in a Spacious Pharmacy
Project Type: Pharmacy Renovation
Area: Over 200 m²
At Pharmacy de la Gare, the untreated natural wood introduces a familiar and welcoming character to the healthcare environment. Its organic texture, with visible grain and natural “wrinkles,” contrasts beautifully with the sleek lacquered MDF finishes, highlighting the “well-being” zone as a true focal point within the pharmacy.
The space is clearly divided into distinct areas, with a harmonious use of wood throughout, on display panels, ceiling details, and furniture accents. Natural light is maximized by a neutral color palette and strategically arranged shelving that avoids visual clutter. Large, minimalist counters with integrated numbering provide an efficient, contemporary look while maintaining openness.
The dispensing counters were redesigned to better suit the pharmacy’s operational needs: simple, graphic, and practical in form. Their understated elegance enhances visual impact without overwhelming the space, improving both functionality and aesthetic coherence.
Medd Design: architecture that balances practicality and atmosphere
In this project, Medd Design prioritised spatial clarity and material honesty to create an environment that feels both efficient and emotionally attuned. By combining raw natural textures with clean lines and a carefully structured layout, the team succeeded in crafting a pharmacy that supports high operational performance while maintaining a warm, human-centred atmosphere. The result is a space where functionality and architectural sensitivity coexist seamlessly.
