Interior Partitions: define spaces without losing width!

How to define different areas without creating restrictive and unpleasant visual barriers? We know this may seem counterintuitive, but interior dividers could be the solution you’re looking for! Understand why in this article!

To divide without separating

Interior partitions are structures that allow you to reorganize internal space without harming its aesthetic value. They are versatile solutions that adapt to the needs of healthcare professionals and adapt to any type of corporate image.

Mobile Interior Partitions

Sliding interior partitions and panels that rotate on their own axis are great options for interiors. They can be produced in different materials (wood, glass, laminate, PVC, polypropylene or even fabric) and are easy to implement, as they do not require much masonry work. They are also particularly elegant design solutions that allow you to create separation without sacrificing the spaciousness of the space. See the example ofTuró Park Medical Center, in the city of Barcelona. A project signed byILV+Asociados, where movable interior partitions were used to define the space and create different environments within the consultation room.

Fixed Partitions

For those looking to create separation without compromising the feeling of openness provided by natural light, fixed interior partitions can also be a viable option. With different designs and materials, they create a convenient and highly sophisticated point of interest. Check out some examples:

1- Paneled frames

Paneled frames are aesthetically appealing, easy to build and perfect for this purpose. As long as transparent or translucent panels are used, it is possible to create physical separation without losing natural light and breaking the “horizon line”. Its price varies greatly depending on the materials used, but there is no denying its aesthetic and functional quality. In addition to maximizing the visual potential of natural light, this solution allows you to create a unique environment that meets the specific performance requirements of the most varied healthcare units.

2 – Slatted panels

The slatted panels of wood, bamboo or PVC, semi-open or connected by translucent materials, are not only notable elements ofdecoration. They help separate different areas without completely blocking the line of sight. This effect provides a feeling of comfort that makes the space more inviting and cozy, especially in healthcare spaces. InEMARDENTAL CLINIC, for example,“soft lighting, filtered through wooden slats, guides the patient through the transit area”. In this project byOHLAB, the rigid and linear appearance of the slat is counterbalanced by large light fittings that give greater amplitude to the space.

3 – Transparent dividers

Transparent dividers are incredibly useful when the objective is to separate areas with different functions, but maintain a close relationship between them. Glass partitions with movable openings can have different thicknesses, dimensions or fixing systems, depending on the context and need. They provide a touch of refinement and elegance to any interior environment, giving rise to an airy and fluid layout. In this project bySTARSIS, the reception area is separated from the medical offices through a glass structure that creates a continuous division. An interesting and extremely appealing paradox.
