Commercial Facade: tips and examples for pharmacies
Facade design is a fundamental principle for the success of any commercial space, regardless of the sector. In fact, long before entering the pharmacy, the user becomes aware of its existence and forms an opinion about it. Therefore, if the goal is to attract attention, you cannot ignore the power of your facade design. Here are some factors to take into consideration when choosing a new look for your pharmacy facade:
1. Define your target audience
Before defining the design of your commercial facade, start by studying your target audience, recognizing their demands, intentions and needs. This data will help you establish an action plan that will serve as a starting point for selecting materials, finishes and – of course – the design itself.
2. Adopt a singular strategy
To design a good commercial facade, you must let the architectural elements speak for themselves. In other words, the design of the facade must complement the character of the place. Here, the goal is to create a sense of place that makes the space more inviting and unique. In this sense, the architectural elements of the building and the details of the facade must be the true protagonists of the project. The reality is that the visual appeal of the facade can often be improved through small interventions, such as simple painting. In other cases, however, renovation may require more extensive work due to a lack of adequate maintenance.
3. Avoid obstructing the exposure
To avoid obstructing the display of products, you should reduce the number of stickers and/or decorative elements attached to theshowcase. Instead, it will be worth considering implementing technology, such asDigital Signageto draw the attention of passers-by and advertise promotions in a cleaner, more interactive and effective way.
4. Make careful use of color
When designing your commercial facade, you should aim to make intelligent and distinctive use of color. At this point, in addition to thinking about the visual identity of your pharmacy, you must take into account the surrounding environment and the way in which the space is inserted into the context. After all, color is an essential element for the legibility of the facade and the graphic elements fixed there. As such, when choosingcolors, make sure they contrast well, so that the name of the pharmacy can be read from a distance with relative ease.
5. Invest in exclusive signage
Lighted signs are excellent options to adorn the facade of your pharmacy and attract the attention of potential users. Here, you should opt for something simple and legible so as not to saturate the visual sense of passers-by with too much light and/or information. Of course, you also cannot fail to install an LED Cross. Equipment that communicates directly with users and can be used to disseminate information such as opening hours, available discounts, promotions or others. After all, the uniqueness of youroutdoor signage contributes, to a large extent, to the way your pharmacy is perceived by the public.
Pharmacy Facades: impressive examples
Pharmacy – Calle Ronda Don Bosco, Madrid
Number 20, Calle Ronda Don Bosco, in Madrid, is an unusual space that fits perfectly into the urban context. The facade of this pharmacy, designed by the Spanish architectHéctor Fernandéz Elorza, is a creative response to the problem of vandalism and unwanted graffiti – very common in the European metropolis. Thus, with large rectangular windows, metal shutters, vertically cut letters and black paint, Héctor discouraged the inappropriate appropriation of the facade, opting – in contrast – for a minimalist interior, dominated by straight lines and the color white.

Pharmacy Dzirciema
Situated in the heart of Rīga, thePharmacy Dzirciemais a two-story metal building designed by the architecture and design company Substance. Surrounded by vegetation, this pharmacy easily stands out from its surroundings, with sixteen uniform corners and a set of individual crosses that ensure it does not go unnoticed. Here, a structurally bonded glass facade contrasts with the rigid appearance of the metal and breaks with the severity of the structure.
